The Art of George Buchanan
Biography
George Clinton Buchanan spent his childhood in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Influenced by his mother's artwork and the natural beauty of the region, Buchanan began painting as a child. He studied commercial art at the Alamance Community College in Burlington, NC and pursued fine art as a career. Garnering many awards, his portraits, landscapes and sculptures have been acquired by corporate and private collectors worldwide, including a portrait in the Pentagon and the Vatican.
Artist Statement
I strive to capture the mysterious presence I perceive in Nature. My intention is to render the associated atmosphere and light which creates the mood of the scene.
